John A. Seymore, 80, of Gurley, passed away Wednesday.
John served as an Elder in the Church of Christ for more than 40 years. He was dedicated to studying and teaching the Bible. He was a loving husband and father, and avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by father, Harvey D. Seymore, mother, Bertie Seymore, sister, Sarah Rush, brother, Willis Seymore, sister, Vashti Rush, brother, Wallace Seymore Sr., and brother, James B. Seymore Sr.
Surviving are wife, Nell G. Seymore of Gurley, daughter, Gloria (James) Harrington of Gurley, son, Roger A. (Phyllis) Seymore of Gurley, sister, Maggie A. Seymore of Moody, grandchldren, Christopher A. Seymore, Donna P. (Michael) Mock, Johnathan D. (Amy) Player, Kathryn P. (Parks) Gettys, Elliot G. Harrington and great grandchildren Eli Mock, Maggie Player and Lucy Player, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Thursday at 6:00 pm with Bro. Steve Parker officiating. An additional visitation will be Friday at Selma Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM with Bro Ed Smith officiating.
Interment will follow the servcie in the Pine View Cemetery in Valley Grande.
