Mary Ann Sibley

Mary Ann Sibley, 82, of Big Cove, passed away Tuesday at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born July 12, 1933 in the Big Cove community. She went to Big Cove Jr. High School and graduated from Madison County High (Gurley). She worked for Woolworth’s, Burketts School Supply, The Book Shop, GTE/Automatic Electric, and Whitesburg Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed Rook, Bingo, bowling and horseshoes. Miss Sibley was a member of the Big Cove Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 68 years.

In addition to her parents Romie Donnell Sibley (1897-1972) and Bobbie Kathryn Sadler Sibley (1908-1992), she was also preceded in death by sisters, Lorraine Joyce Sibley (1929-1933), and Nellie Raye Sibley Heilman (1931-1980), and brothers, Donald Clayton Sibley (1928-1989), and Earl Carter Sibley (1944-2014).

Surviving are brothers, James L. “Buddy” (Linda) Sibley of Hazel Green, Bob Sibley of Big Cove, and William Sibley of Big Cove, sisters, Sherry Sibley Troglen of Huntsville, and Charlotte Sibley (Bruce) Fulton of Athens, sister-in-law, Beth Sibley of Huntsville and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Don Reeves Officiating.

Interment will be in the Campground Cemetery in Big Cove.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Cove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 5984 Hwy. 431 South, Brownsboro, AL 35741.

Teresa Trinity Brice , 51, of New Mexico, passed away Tuesday.

She was preceded in death by father, Alton Latham, Jr. and mother, Frankie Rita Latham.

Surviving are daughter, Misty Justice Smith, son, Jeremy Justice, sister, Donna Quesinberry, brother, Gary Latham, brother, Mike Latham, several family members and friends.

Trena R. Hill, 59, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Friday. Trena was a lifelong resident of Madison County and retired from Chrysler after 28 years of service.

She was preceded in death by father, Junior Hillis.

Surviving are husband, Ross Hill, daughter, Brandy (Michael) Wilson, mother, Norene Hillis, sister, Jamie (Danny) Naples, sister, Lisa McIllwain, granddaughter, Jayna Buchanan, grandsons, Cash Buchanan, David Wilson, Daniel Wilson, and Andrew Wilson, special friend, Sherry Kelly, and many nieces & nephews.

Alvie D. Lemley

Alvie David Lemley, 82, of New Hope, died at home on Tuesday, August 11.

Mr. Lemley was retired from Alabama Forestry Commission after 33 years of service. He was active in the Wounded Warrior “Semper Fi Community Task Force”. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, farmer and sawyer. Mr. Lemley was a shooting instructor for Remington; one of the founding members of Bowhunters of Alabama; assisted in the stocking of white tail deer in Madison County; and a friend and mentor to many.

He was preceded in death by wife Mary Loutisha Lemley, son, Robert David “Tank” Lemley, father, Dencey Lemley, mother, Julia Ethel Lemley, sister, Doris Morano, sister, Mae Fanorakis, sister, Wilma Meeks, brother, Glennis Burlon Lemley, brother, Delbert Lemley, brother, Tommy Lemley, brother, Leonard Lemley, and brother, Grady Lemley.

Surviving are daughter, Deborah Lemley (Gary) Kittle, daughter, Alice Lemley (Jeff) McDonald, daughter-in-law, Wanda McDonald (widow of Robert David Lemley) Lemley, grandchildren, Wenona Lemley (Brandon) Pritchett, Amanda “Amy” Honea (Keith) Conville, Ivan David (Kim) Lemley, Jerad Troy (Tasha) Honea, and Augustus Wade “Gus” McDonald, great grandchildren, Ivie Grace Lemley, Benjamin Dalton May, Olivia Grace Conville, Ridge Lemley Pritchett, Ella Ann Pritchett, and Leeland Troy Honea, sister, Ruby Lemley Slocum of Concord, NC.
