Carlton Henry Keel

May 31, 1945 – June 23, 2016

Carlton Henry Keel, 71, of New Hope, passed away Thursday.

He was retired from Saint Gobain / Norton after many years of service and was also a member of the New Hope Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by wife of 38 years, Brenda Kay Keel, father, Wilburn O’Neal Keel, mother, Ida Mae Keel, and son, Henry Scott Keel.
Surviving are son, Matthew Carlton (Valerie) Keel, daughter, Carla (David) Worthington, daughter, Dora Hunt, grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon, Michael, Clayton, Justin, and Kayla, one great grandchild, Scott, brother, James “Buddy” (Ruby) Keel, brother, Ollie (Sarah) Keel, and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Holiness Church. Services will follow at 1:00 pm.
Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.

Lonnie Lee Boles

Lonnie Lee Boles, 42, of Grant, passed away Friday.

He was preceded in death by father, Chuck Boles, grandmother, Eloria Martin, and grandfather, T.L. Martin.

Surviving are wife, Erica Renae Boles, daughter, Daniela Renae Boles, daughter, Samantha Lee Boles, daughter, Alexandra Jade Boles, son, Thomas Lee Boles, mother, Pamela Boles, sister, Amber (John) Oncay, one nephew and several aunts.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 3:00 pm with Steve Stanfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Free Home Cemetery.

Linda Kay Smith

Linda Kay Smith, 73, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Kay was retired from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command at Redstone Arsenal with 35 years of service. While working for civil service she also was a night instructor at the Huntsville City School Center for Technology for several years. She served on the board of directors for Hope Place and was a volunteer for other activities in the community. She loved children, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and working in her yard. She was a member of the New Hope Free Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by father, Howard Keel, mother, Janie Keel, son, Jeff Neal, brother, Malcolm Keel, brother, Doyle Keel.

Surviving are daughter, Kelly (Rick) Hopkins, daughter-in-law, Sonya Williamson, five grandchildren, Randall (Kelly) Helton, Katie Hopkins, Justin Neal, Johnny and James Stewart, three great grandchildren, Tommy Hopkins, Jackson and Lainey Helton, one nephew, Johnathan (Amy) Keel, aunts, uncles, cousins and several friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 1:00 pm with Bro. Wayne Walls officiating.

Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by father, Marshall Lee Byrd, mother, Gladys Montgomery Byrd, brother, Marshall Byrd, Jr., sister, Doris Byrd, brother, Edward Leon Byrd, brother, Charles A. Byrd, brother, Vernon E. Byrd, brother, Dicky R. Byrd, brother, Tommy Byrd, brother, Jackey Byrd.
Surviving are brother, Jimmy L. (Carolyn) Byrd, brother, Billy W. (Carol) Byrd, sister, Dianne Byrd Adams, niece, Monica Tidwell, great-niece, Shianne Hasley, great-niece, Savanna Hall, and several additional nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 3:00 pm.
Interment will be in the Neals Chapel Cemetery.

Edna C. Baucom

August 21, 1923 – June 16, 2016

Edna Christine Kilgore Baucom, 92, of Chattanooga, and former resident of New Hope passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Mrs. Baucom was a native of New Hope and graduated from New Hope High School in 1941.

She was preceded in death by father, Dilas Edward Kilgore, mother, Ethel Kilgore, husband, Ernest L. Baucom, brother, Edward Wayne Kilgore, and sister, Carolyn Kilgore.

Surviving are son, Ernest Larkin (Viola “Vi” Jaramillo) Baucom, grandson, Larkin Dwaine (Kim) Baucom, granddaughter, Dainah Michelle (Tracey) Baucom Rico, great grandchildren, Wyatt Baucom, Ella Baucom, Tracey Blaine (Rachel) Rico, Manuel Jake Rico, and Ana Gabrielle Rico, step daughter, Peggie (Charles-deceased) Baucom Moore, step grandchildren, Keith L. Myrick, Lori Wilkes Barnett, Charles (Wanda) Myrick, step great grandchildren, Kendall Myrick (Matt) Ladd, Jessica Wilkes, Damian Joshua Myrick, Jacob Riley Myrick, and step great great granddaughter, Pearl Tupelo Ladd.

A memorial service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, July 8 at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery.

Ruby Conn Greer

June 21, 1932 – June 19, 2016

Ruby Conn Greer, 83, of Owens Cross Roads, and formerly of Attalla passed away Sunday.

She was a member of Bethel United Baptist in Gadsden. She loved attending her church and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Charlie Conn, mother, Novice Beason Conn, brother, Howard Conn, sister, Lois Stanfield, sister, Thanell McCoy, sister, Helen Campbell, and sister, Pauline Burgess.
Surviving are daughter, Sabrina (Michael) Wilkerson, granddaughter, Celeste (Joel) Austin, granddaughter, Caressa (Richard) Harbin, great grandchildren, Cassidy Austin, Joel Austin, Jr, Chloe Harbin, and Miles Harbin and several nieces & nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Moon Cemetery, Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Reuben T. Lyle

Reuben T. Lyle, 70, of New Hope, passed away Thursday after a long struggle with cancer surrounded by his family.

Mr. Lyle loved helping people, loved his family fiercely and his church. He enjoyed collecting things, gospel music while traveling. Mr. Lyle was a United States Marine Corp Veteran and also served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by father, John Martin Lyle, mother, Annie Bell Lyle, and brothers, James Lyle, and J M Lyle.

Surviving are wife, Annabell Lyle, daughter, Kimberly Lyle Burks, daughter, Melisa Kay Lyle, son, Pat (Tammy) Lyle, son, Douglas (Carrie) Lyle, son, John (Mandy) Lyle, daughter, Rita (Charlie) King, sister, Carolyn (George) Anderson, 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 12:00 PM with Jerry Hovis officiating.

Interment will be in the Moon Cemetery.
