Inez Sutton Shubert

Inez Sutton Shubert, 76, of New Hope, passed away Friday.

She was an active member of the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed working in the yard, Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves.
She was preceded in death by husband, Dewey “Junior” Shubert, son, Gregory Keith Shubert, and father, Wilburn Sutton.
Surviving are mother, Ollie Mae Sutton, daughter, Debbie (Sam) Etheredge, son, Jimmy Evoniuk, daughter, Wendy Anders, daughter-in-law, Melody Shubert (Mike) Whitaker, grandchildren, Josh (Kelly) Etheredge, Jake (Andrea) Etheredge, Cody Etheredge, Audrey Shubert, Sarah Shubert, Emilee Anders, and Erin Anders, great grandchildren, Gabe, Ellie, Maggie, Sophie, and Eli, brothers, Ray Sutton, and Larry (Diane) Sutton, two special nieces, Pam Mason, and Karen Cooper and many additional nieces, nephews, and family.
Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Monday at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery.

Joe W. Burgess

Joe W. Burgess, 67, of New Hope, passed away Wednesday.

He was preceded in death by father, John W Burgess, mother, Bobbie Pritchett Burgess, nephew, Daniel Burgess.
Surviving are daughter, Stacey Burgess, granddaughter, Joely Burgess, brothers, Jerry (Anita) Burgess and Danny Ray (Connie) Burgess, niece, Misty (Troy) Robinson, nephew, Brandon Burgess, great nephew, Ethan Robinson, and his church family at Galilee Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 1:00 pm with Dr. Harold Wicks, and Rev. Doug Browner officiating.
Interment will be in the Kennamer Cemetery.

Leavena B. Embry

Luther Emery.

Surviving are daughter, Brenda Marsh, son, Ricky Emery, son, Roger Emery, grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Emery, Paul Hall, Carrie (John) Doran, Amanda (Travis) Haun, Ricky Emery, Jake Emery, Kelsey Emery, great grandchildren, Eric, Charles, Marian, Joseph, Jalen, Andrew, Reanna, Justice, Jordan, Kelsey, Kasey, Raylee, Bristol, Farrah, Nathan, Aiden and Spencer.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 2:00 pm.

Interment will be in the New Prospect Cemetery.

Joe Douglas Bell

Joe Douglas Bell, 57, of New Hope, passed away Friday.

He was preceded in death by father, James Hardy Bell, mother, Dorothy Sue Bell, brother, James H. “Jimmy” Bell, Jr., and brother, Bobby Bell.
Joe was a lifelong native of New Hope, Alabama. He was a devoted father of 4 and the grandfather to a precious granddaughter, Isabelle Jo. He was an avid Auburn fan who retired after 30+ years with UPS. He loved to spend his free time grilling, listening to good music, with family and friends, golfing, gardening, taking trips to the beach and telling his corny jokes to anyone who would listen. He was a simple man with an extraordinary heart to help anyone who was in need, no matter the need! He was loved deeply and will be missed beyond comprehension.
Surviving are daughter, Elizabeth Bell, daughter, Lindsey (Brent) Rideout, daughter, Sara Bell, son, Garrett Bell, granddaughter, Isabelle Jo Rideout, sister, Sylvia Hanks, sister, Cynthia Partain, sister-in-law, Gina Bell, nephew, Richard Wilson, nieces, Heather Pickup, Kylie Dee Bell, Dorothy Sue Partain, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be John Cooper, Jo Ed Lee, Jeff Cooper, Don Mann, Tim Martin, Dwight Keel, Honorary Pallbearers, Steve Fogg, Deon Hose, Dewey Mann, and Lacey Davis.
Visitation will be Monday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Micheal Carpenter officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to go to the New Hope United Methodist Church Life Center.
Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.

Surviving are daughter, Dian Bearden (Brad) Allen, daughter, Ruby Bearden (Eric) Tallaksen, daughter, Angie Bearden, grandchildren, Dylan (Breanna) Allen, Justin Allen, Emily Tallaksen, Sarah Tallaksen, Derek Bearden, Tana Osborne, great grandson, Lucas Allen, brother, Johnny (Ruth) Bearden, brother, Jimmy (Linda) Bearden, brother, Ray (Flo) Bearden, brother, Gary (Wanda) Bearden, brother, Billy (Janie) Bearden, brother, Darrell (Ola) Bearden, brother, Curtis (Wanda) Bearden, sister, Debbie (David) White and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Michael Eagan

Robert Michael Eagan, 67, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Wednesday.

He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired after 20+ years of service. He also worked on the Hawk Missile System and he was a loving caring husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by mother, Irene Page, and daughter, Robin Staten.

Surviving are wife, Marilyn A. Eagan, children, Steve (Jeanne) Eagan, Jodi (Timmy) Atchley, Bobbie (Michael) Buck, David (Sherri) Eagan, Katie Eagan, Madison Eagan, Donald Eagan, Michael Eagan, Mary Eagan, John Eagan, and Bobby Eagan, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Kathy Jones, brothers, David Page, and Charles Page, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at 12:00 pm at the chapel with Rev. Micheal Carpenter officiating.
