Nina Sue Burleson

Nina Sue Burleson, 90, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Monday.

She was preceded in death by husband, James Bennett “J.B.” Burleson, father, Dan C. Drake, Sr., mother, Mattie Virginia Hill Drake, sisters, Louise Alverson, Hazel Drake, and Dimple Brockway, and brother, Allen Drake.

Surviving are brother, Dan C. Drake, Jr., son, Benny (Sissy) Burleson, granddaughter, Kerry (Chris) Lewter, grandson, Marc (Sara) Burleson, great grandson, Conner Lewter, and great granddaughters, Allison Burleson and Annie Lewter.

Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ. Service will follow Thursday at 6:00 PM at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ.

Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ Benevolence Fund or Baja Missions.

  2. My mother, Stella Stephens, always loved Nina Sue. They finished school together. Mama loved her very much. They are now rejoicing in heaven together. The family has my condolences.

  4. Nina Sue was our neighbor for many years and we enjoyed her so much. She was a kind and thoughtful lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Nina Sue was always a favorite of me and my mom and we always enjoyed visiting with her even if some years it was only at the reunion. If fact, all of the Dan C. Drake family has always been a special part of our Drake family!

  7. I worshiped with Nina Sue and her family for many years at OXR. She was a precious lady and I considered her my friend, but most importantly, we were sisters in Christ. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
