Louise Mefford Baskins, 87, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Tuesday.

Louise “Weezie” was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church for 40 years and served as the nursery attendant for many of those years.

She was preceded in death by father, James Dewey Mefford, mother, Anna Lee Mefford, husband, Robert C. Baskins, step mother, Ethel Mefford, and 6 siblings.

Surviving are daughter, Lois Baskins, daughter, Judy (Larry) Luttrell, son, Bobby (Jan) Baskins, daughter, Regina (Gary) Cloud, daughter, Debbie (Chris) Batchelor, granddaughter, Amy Luttrell, granddaughter, Stefanie Hubble, grandson, Shane Glover, great-grandson, Ayden Thornton, brother, J.D. (Shirley) Mefford, brother, Larry (Debbie) Mefford, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Salem Baptist Church, Thursday at 1:00 PM with Bro. Mike Shaneyfelt officiating. Mrs. Baskins body will lie in repose for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.
