James Richard Stapler was born and raised in New Hope. He graduated from New Hope High School in 1969. After graduation he started working in the construction industry. By 1971 at the age of 21 he was a journeyman heavy equipment operator. Over the next several years he progressed his career and became a superintendant for large scale construction projects. He returned home in 1990 and started working on the Hampton Cove golf course. In 1995 he established Cedar Creek Construction, which was later renamed Stapler Construction. He also founded Stapler’s Landholding. He truly enjoyed his work. He said many times, “I like to take nothing and make it into something”. He celebrated 20 years of successful proprietorship.
