James W. Cooper

James W. Cooper, 81, of Summertown, Tennessee passed away Friday.

He was preceded in death by father, Ambrose Preston Cooper, and mother, Viola Schrimsher Cooper.

Surviving are wife, Shirley Cooper, son, James M. (Janet) Cooper, daughter, Ola (Darrell) Bearden, son, Marlon (Glenda) Cooper, son, James Thomas (Jane) Cooper, son, Rodney (Cindy) Cooper, daughter, Shelbie Lipscomb, sister, Jennie Cagle, brother, Kenneth Cooper, brother, Ollie Cooper, sister, Carolyn Meekins, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and special friends, Lisa Pilot and Jean Doub.

Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Gary Paseur officiating.

Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.

  2. I only met James on two occasions, but I have been fortunate to have met others of his immediate family several times. If they are a testament to his life, …how wonderful. You are a close and caring family. James can be proud. I pray for comfort and strength for all. I am so sorry for your loss. Dana Dewees

  3. James and my grandpa(Jordan Schrimsher) spent a lot of time together and I was lucky to be able to spend some of it with them. He will be missed.
