William D. Stephens, 86, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday.

He was preceded in death by step-grandson, Nicholas Green.

Surviving are wife, Shirley Stephens, son, Roger (Vickie) Stephens, daughter, Linda (James) Castle, son, Glenn (Cheryl) Stephens, son, Charles (Betty) Stephens, sister, Margaret Keel, sister, Mildred Lemley, step-son, Tony (Rhonda) Dix, step-daughter, Donna (George) Kunkle, step-daughter, Lisa Dix, step-son, Jimmy (Katy) Dix, grandson, Caleb Stephens, granddaughter, Caitlin Stephens, grandson, Cole Stephens, granddaughter, Caroline Stephens, grandson, Dale Stephens, granddaughter, Nikki Browning, grandson, James Castle, Jr., great-grandkid, Mallory Stephens, great-grandson, Jonathan Browning, great-grandson, Joshua Browning, great-granddaughter, Dancy Castle, step-granddaughter, Danilelle Dix, step-granddaughter, Erin Green, step-granddaughter, Chelsea Wells, step-grandson, Justin Dix, step-granddaughter, Kaci Dix, 2 step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating.

Interment will be in the Byrd Cemetery.

  1. Shirley, you and your family are in our prayers. Mr. “D” was a good friend and neighbor, also an inspiration in his walk as a Christian. We will miss him. Love you both.

  2. Roger so sorry for your loss. Wish I could be there for you and to see Dale and Nikki after all these years. You are all in my prayers.
