M.C. Webster

M.C. Webster, 94, of New Hope, passed away Monday.  M.C. was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific from 1941 to 1945.  Returning from service, M.C. met and married his wife Louise E. (Cole) Webster in Maryland. Together they returned to his childhood hometown of New Hope, where M.C. lived for the next 70 years.

M.C. worked as a flooring installer for Saint’s Floor Service of Huntsville and continued after retirement to install for locals as well.  He installed commercial/residential flooring throughout much of the growing Huntsville metro area, including new construction and renovations at both U.S. Army and MSFC facilities on Redstone Arsenal.

He was preceded in death by father, Robert Webster, mother, Mattie Lou Webster, wife, Louise E. Webster, son-in-law, Alvie G. Hughey, five brothers and four sisters.  Surviving are son, Mack C. Webster, daughter, Judy M. Hughey, granddaughter, Cindy Shakay Hughey, and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 11:00 am.  Family selected pallbearers will be J.D. Webster, Kenneth Webster, Jeff Webster, Jeff Cooper, Barry Mefford, Jay Ledbetter.

Interment will be in the Whitaker Cemetery with military honors.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to friends and family for their support and comforting efforts.  Family also wishes to extend special thanks to the Gentiva Home Health and Hospice providers for their care and service, and to individual care givers, Rhonda Thompson and Allen Coles for their continued support and care.

  1. I would like to start out saying that I have wonderful childhood memories at the Webster home. Cindy and I always played together growing up and helped with those green beans from the garden….pulling the string and snapping 🙂 Mr. and Mrs. Webster was very kind. So sorry for your loss, but know the pain is now gone and he is enjoying seeing those that have past on before him. Thank you for great memories that I will always remember! God Bless Your Family.
