Frances M. Roberson

January 2, 1917 – July 30, 2014

Frances M. Roberson, departed this life at 97, Wednesday.

She was a graduate of New Hope High School and Auburn University with a B.A. in Home Economics. Frances was an active member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Roberson, of Fayetteville, Alabama. Her parents were Clifton Mann, Jr. and Fannie Wilson Mann of New Hope. She has two sons, John Roberson of New Hope and Robbie Roberson (Pat) of Huntsville, two granddaughters Kacey Nash (Tim, deceased) of Huntsville and Kelli Degnan (Bobby) of Madison, Mississippi., and two great-granddaughters Calli Nash and Betsy Nash of Huntsville. Frances was a part of a family of seven children, three of whom are living. Bertie Carpenter, Dave Mann, Sr., and Lyla McMullen. The family members who precede Frances in death are Matty Roberts, Wilson Mann, C.O. Mann, Jr., James Mann, Imogene Butler, Lela Belle McCrory, and Dewey Thomas Mann. Frances was loving wife and devoted Christian. She will be missed by all of those who knew her.

Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church. Services will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Michael Carpenter, officiating. Please send memorials to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund at 5351 Main Dr, New Hope, AL 35760

Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

  1. John and Robbie, I am so sorry to hear about Mrs Frances. She was such a special and caring person to my family. She touched so many peoples lives. Will miss seeing her smiling face. God bless both of you and your families.
