Marsha W. Martin

Marsha W Martin passed away on June 26, 2014 in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 60. She was a long time resident of New Hope, Alabama. She was a member of the Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Oak Grove Road in New Hope and supported the churches in the Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Association. Marsha was married to James Wade Martin in 1972 (41 wonderful years). She grew up in New Hope and graduated from New Hope High School in 1972. Marsha’s occupations consisted of full time witness for Jesus & pastor’s wife, clerical assistant at the Department of State, florist, stay-at-home mom, and administrative assistant for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Marsha accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age in her childhood. She was a Godly Christian Woman, Devoted Preacher’s Wife, Loving Mother, Awesome Grandmom, Faithful Church Member, Excellent Cook, Talented Singer, Dedicated Worker, Great Friend, Fantastic Gift Giver, Avid Card Player, Wonderful Dance Partner, Immaculate Home Entertainer, Constant Picture Taker, Frequent Antique Shopper, & Beautiful Woman inside and out. [And the list goes on and on…] Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ was constantly shared with others. The pages of her Bible at one glance illustrates the devotion she had to the Lord and being the best Christian she could possibly be here on this Earth. She read his word and thanked him for the blessing of salvation through constant prayer and supplication to the Lord and is now resting, awaiting for Jesus’ return. Her desire for her family was written in the front of her Bible and it reads [My Desire: That Wade and I, my children, grandchildren, and generations to come will fulfill the following: “And they did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of their lives.”]. The one question she would ask you today is “Are you prepared to meet your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at this very moment?” “If your answer is no, then seek after Jesus for his salvation and ALWAYS put the Lord first!”

She was preceded in death by father, Willie Bell Williams, mother, Verna Vee Brockway Williams, and brother, Dewey Felton Williams.

Surviving are husband, James Wade Martin, daughter, Betina Vee (Michael) Johnson, son, Jordan Wade (Elizabeth) Martin, grandsons, Houston, Austin, and Isaac, God granddaughter, Amber, sister, Janice Gayle (Jerry) Martin, brother, Jerry Wade (Linda Lee) Williams, brother, Mickey Elvin (Mary) Williams, brother, Clayburn Ollie (Patti) Williams, brother, Franky George (Linda Gayle) Williams, brother, Larry Dean (Sara) Williams, sister-in-law, Linda Fay Williams.
