Johnny Clark, 49, of New Hope, passed away Wednesday.

Johnny was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He brought joy to many with his quick-wit and sense of humor. He was a graduate of New Hope High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from Athens State University. Mr. Clark was employed as a Test Engineer by SAIC/CCWS supporting the Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wireless-Guided missile program. Mr. Clark served multiple roles in the New Hope community as a recreation center coach, Booster Club member and President. Mr. Clark positively impacted the lives of multiple children through his work with the baseball and softball programs within his community. Mr. Clark will be remembered for his kind spirit, caring attitude and his commitment to his family, community, and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, James Clark, and daughter, Erin N. Clark.

Surviving are wife, Lori Clark of New Hope, son, Jonathon L. Clark Jr. of Madison, mother, Alice Clark of New Hope, brother, Ronnie (Pat) Clark of New Hope, and sister, Rita Olivares of Huntsville.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ, Saturday at 11:00 am with Bro. Harold Kelly and Bro. Justin Panell officiating.

Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery.

  6. O sweet Lori and Jonathan my heart is breaking for you right now, know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I love you Lori. Ric passed Monday and we will lay him to rest today. Ric and Johnny fought hard and know they are rejoicing in heaven.
