Elwanda Henley Hallman of Huntsville, 91, passed away Monday. She was born in Valley Home, Tennessee to Bryan and Jesse Henley, grew up on Pratt Avenue in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School and Athens College.
Survivors include sons Mark Hallman and his wife Karen of Brownsboro, Reverend Danny Hallman and his wife Becky of Mr. Olive, grandchildren Amy Brantley of Huntsville, Ben Hallman of Brooklyn, NY, Anna Hallman and Malinda McGill of Mt. Olive, Carol Hailey of Brownsboro, Michael Defiore and William Tart of Huntsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband Jim Hallman, son Jimmy Hallman, sisters Robena Medbery of Charleston, SC, Rita Fondren of Memphis, TN, and brothers Escoe and James Henley of Huntsville.
Elwanda lived most of her adult life in Tarrant, where she was a housewife and raised her family. She was a member of the Methodist Church and spent her adult life forwarding the cause of Jesus Christ.
No visitation or funeral services are scheduled. A celebration of her life and her final reward will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 10th at Sandusky United Methodist Church in Birmingham. All are welcome to attend.
