Cecil Brooks Davis, 94, of Grant, passed away Wednesday.

She was preceded in death by father, John Robert Brooks, mother, Emma Serena Caroline Lamb Brooks, husband, Lacy Otha Davis Sr., son, Jimmy Wade Davis, daughter, Susie Mae Bearden, grandson, Kelly Bernard Davis, grandson, Roger Gothard.

Surviving are son, Robert Lee (Susan) Davis of Grant, daughter, Mildred Louise Davis Preston of Grant, daughter, Linda Joe (Don) McNabb of Grant, son, Lacy Otha Davis Jr. of New Hope, son, William Earl (Becky) Davis of New Hope, son, Jerry Wayne (Donna) Davis of Grant, son, Luther (Emma) Davis of Grant, son, John W. (Tammy) Davis of Grant, son, Floyd Lee (Susan) Davis of IN, 38 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren, sister, Katherine Ledbetter.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 3:00 pm.

Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery.

  1. Those we love don’t go away, They walk besides us everyday, Unseen,unheard, but always near. Stll loved, still missed and very dear. Death leaves heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Our deepest Sympathy.

  3. I regret that I learned about Aunt Cecil’s death too late to make arrangements to attend the services. She was a dear loving Aunt. I cherish sweet memories of her.
