Charlotte Wright Oliver, 79, of Huntsville, AL, went home to her eternal resting place on Monday, February 4, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Charlotte was born on February 17, 1933, in Jackson County, Alabama, the oldest child of Ernest C. Wright and Lessie Smith Wright. She grew up in the New Hope area where she attended New Hope High School. Having many skills, she held several jobs after high school, eventually being employed by and later retired from Chrysler Corporation. In her later years she attended Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and housekeeper who taught these skills to her daughters. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandsons most of all. Along with her husband, she traveled many miles to watch their baseball, basketball, and football games, as well as other school activities. She was looking forward to celebrating her 80th birthday with her family at her most recent residence, Regency Retirement Village. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Regency.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Elmer (Lou) Oliver of Huntsville, AL; daughters Angie Branum Butler (Steve) of Woodville, AL, Janice Branum Temmen (Mark) of Toney, AL; grandsons Nathan Bryn Butler (Jennifer) of Owens Cross Roads, AL, William Mark Temmen of Toney, AL, Benjamin Cole Temmen of Tyndall Air Force Base, FL, and John Garrett Temmen of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany. She is also survived by her mother, Lessie Wright Cobb of New Hope, AL; sister, Frances Doran of Ridgecrest, LA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Ernest C. Wright and brothers, Ernest C. Wright Jr. and Milo D. Wright.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Cynthia Reichard officiating.
Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery.
