Patricia Honea Atchley

April 19, 1947 – September 24, 2012 

Patricia Honea Atchley, 65, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Monday.

Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend to many. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She served in the community for many years as bus driver, and substute teacher.

She was preceded in death by parents, John Honea, and Elizabeth Thompson Honea.

Surviving are children, Erica Atchley, Jessica Atchley, and Scott Atchley, husband, Verbon Atchley, sisters, Betty Jean Watts, and Judy Boshart, brothers, Billy, John, James, Stanley, and Dwayne Honea, 3 grandchildren, Alexia Anderson, Jaylynn Atchley, and Andrew Riddle, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Bro. Mike Shaneyfelt, and Bro. Danny Gipson officiating.

Interment will be in the Byrd Cemetery.

  1. My Condolence to Patricia’s family. I remember her fondley. She was always so nice and kind to me. Would see her out and about in later years, she would never miss a chance to say Hello! Sincerely, Dorcas Brazelton Murray

  2. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Atchley family. I can remember all the fun times we had having Mrs. Pat at a bus driver and a teacher. She was an awesome lady and will be truly missed. Rest in Piece Mrs. Pat. You are and will always be loved.
