Robert G. Bakula

Robert (Bob) G. Bakula, died on July 31, 2011 at the age of 68.

Survived by his wife of 27 years Lynda (Wilder).  Father of Alan Bakula (Mechelle) of Naperville IL, Cherish Davis (Parrish) of Milan, IL; grandfather of Bryce and Cameron Davis and three step grandchildren Torey, Chelsea and Devin. Survived by three brothers: John (Pat) of Chicago IL, Bill (Kathie) of St. Louis, Paul (Janet) of St. Louis. Son of the late Robert G. Bakula Sr. and
Mary Rita Bakula.  Loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

Bob graduated from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, received his Master of Business Administration Degree from St. Ambrose University, and was a Vietnam War Veteran.  He retired from John Deere Industrial Equipment & Engine Division and then worked for Chem-Solv. Bob enjoyed many hobbies that he embraced passionately. Among them were Master Ship modeler,
teaching fire arm safety, hunter education, flying, blacksmithing, cooking, digitizing family history in pictures. Known and loved by many for his wonderful sense of humor and practical
jokes.

Visitation at 10 a.m. August 6 at St. William Catholic Church, 929 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville, AL  35976 followed by a funeral Mass at 11a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. William Catholic Church.

  1. Dearest Lynda, I am so sorry that you and this world has lost Bob. He was such a wonderful and kind man . I can now fully understand the grief of losing your best friend.
