James O. Self, 92, passed away Tuesday. He was a lifelong resident of New Hope.
James was a veteran of WWII, he loved life, enjoyed fishing and always looked
forward to trips together with his beloved wife Margie.
He was preceded in death by brother Earlon Self, sister Thelma Mayo, and
parents, Tommy and Maymie Self.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Margie Taylor Self, he is also survived by
sisters, Dimple Martin of Huntsville, and Syble Whitaker of New Hope, special
nephew, Jerry Self of New Hope, nieces, Lou Ann Poole of New Hope, Regina
Childress of Huntsville, Faye Payton of New Hope, Kathy Salmon of Owens Cross
Roads, and Sherry Stiefel of Albertville, several great nieces and nephews and
a host of friends.
Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home.
Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 2:00 pm with
Bro. Larry Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hayden Cemetery.
