Dorothy Louise Barnett , 80, of New Hope, passed away Monday.
She was preceded in death by husband, John Barnett Jr., father, Ernest Honea, mother, Nellie Brockway Honea, sister, Leona Meeks, sister, Marie Kearney, sister, Ola Mae Hughes, and sister, Ethel Rohrmoser.
Surviving are daughter, Judy (Jerry) Lewis of Owens Cross Roads, son, Rickey (Debra) Barnett of New Hope, son, Danny (Susan) Barnett of New Hope, AL, grandchildren, Christy Reed, Brett (Bobbie) Lewis, Rick (Jennifer) Barnett, Jr., Kimberly (David) Haywood, Brandy (Mark) Whorton, Nathan Barnett, and Donnie (Brandy) Holt,, great grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Palmer Reed, Austin Barnett, Nichlous Barnett, Brylee Barnett, Blaine Haywood, Hunter Haywood, Hannah Haywood, Danielle Whorton, Allie Whorton, Gracie Holt, Dakota Holt and Bella Holt, brother, Edward (Joyce) Honea, brother, Ernest Honea Jr., sister, Margaret Glover, and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating.
Interment will be in the Hampton Cove Memory Gardens.
I loved Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Jr. They were so wonderful to my parents. I remember as a teenager she fixed my hair for dances at school. I remember her faithfulness to God most all. She is rejoicing in Heaven now!
We loved our mother very much. She was the one that taught us about Jesus. We know she is shouting on the streets of glory now! Rest in peace mom!
